My Pyle receiver has a switch on back to go from 115 volts or 230 volts. I'm here in America and need to know do I set the receiver to 115 volts? Or is it 230 volts?

I have this model & it is almost brand new. It has stopped working. All I get is a squelching sound through the speakers after the unit is turned on & cycles through it's settings. Is this unit defective or how can I fix this problem?

Check all the wiring connections made with the unit as well as all the wires used if there is any bad one. Try to change the wires if necessary.
