i just got the item and i plugged it in and at first it made this zapping noise for a hole 10 seconds and then it quit . the blue light did not turn on though?

I don't see the blue light tubes inside the zapper....the not lighting up

There are no switch for the Bug Zapper. Once you plug it to AC power it will turn on right away.
